About Forward St.Paul

We want you to help us change the course of St. Paul’s future.

We have talked for many years, usually with great frustration, about how difficult it is to get real action on progressive issues in this city.

That’s why we created Forward St. Paul, a non-partisan Political Action Committee.

Our goals:

  • to create a larger, more effective progressive movement in St. Paul
  • to organize people and groups around progressive issues
  • to encourage elected officials to move beyond words and plans – to real action and movement forward!

We’ll focus on building energy around elections because we believe our elected officials need to hear from us – with support and accountability to progressive action.

Our first campaign is starting right now, as we focus on the 2015 City Council elections. Next, we will build momentum for the 2016 Ramsey County Commissioner elections and the 2017 Mayoral elections

We want candidates to commit to concrete, tangible actions to move Saint Paul forward. And, we want to collaborate on the issues that organizations and active citizens are already promoting.

We want to boost that work, not replace it. Forward St. Paul will educate voters on issues and where candidates stand.  Working for tangible actions on the key pillars of a just and progressive city:

  • Better Economy
  • Better Environment
  • Better Livability
  • Better Democracy

And we have specific, concrete actions to build on, not just encouraging words or supportive statements.

In addition to focusing on four key issues, we want to connect individuals, organizations and movements across the many progressive issues that St. Paul could be acting on.  We want to build a network of citizens to support a movement for a better St. Paul.
