We want a Better Economy

24% of St. Paul’s population lives in poverty based on Data from 2011. This means more than  67,000 people struggle to make ends meet in our city; 25,000 of them are children. For years, we have reviewed this problem with committees and task forces at all levels. Few tangible actions have resulted.  We believe access to sick time is a basic right that will help St. Paul’s working families.   Other cities that have already taken this step, so why don’t we?  For more information look at Seattle and Denver.  Minneapolis is also considering this for action within the next year.
As a Councilmember, will you introduce a sick and safe time ordinance that will guarantee all workers in St. Paul access to sick time?
