We want a Better Environment
While we talk about becoming a more sustainable city, resources for implementing real policies are routinely directed away from the environment. Every single month, we’re miss opportunities for residents to reduce the waste that flows to landfills and garbage burners – contributing to climate change. We have already delayed improved curbside recycling and composting until 2017, while other cities have already implemented this program. We need to catch up and we believe a Styrofoam ban will help the city reduce its landfilled waste. Minneapolis has already taken this step, and cities all over the US have implemented this ban.
As a Councilmember, will you introduce and/or support an ordinance to ban Styrofoam containers in St. Paul within 12 months of being elected?
